After performing in the church choir as a child, Simpson signed with Columbia Records in 1997 at seventeen. Sweet Kisses (1999), her debut album, was sold 2 million copies in the United States. The hit single "I I Want To Love You Forever" was a huge commercial success. Simpson changed her look to be more mature for her second album Irresistible (2001). The album's title track was her second top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) had certified the album as gold. In This Skin (2003) Simpson's third studio album which sold 3 million copies in the United States. Simpson was famous for her friendship with Nick Lachey and her wedding to him. Simpson also appeared on MTV's reality show Newlyweds, Nick and Jessica between 2003 and 2005. Simpson's first Christmas album ReJoyce was released in 2004 and was certified gold. She made her debut on film in The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) as Daisy Duke. She also recorded an original cover of "These Boots are Made for Walkin'" for the soundtrack to the film. In 2006, she released her fifth studio album A Public Affair and appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the Month. With the release her sixth studio album Do You Know (2008), Simpson moved into the country music genre. Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005. It was a clothing-focused line featuring 34 categories of products. It is the most profitable celebrity licensing company in history and has earned more than $1 billion in revenues to the present. In 2010, she played in the reality TV series The Price of Beauty. She also judged fashion-related designs during Fashion Star's two seasons between 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson with whom she has three children.
